Our Icho Espadrilles (a basic we reedit every Spring) are travelling the world. Our costumers bring them to their vacations to countries like Morocco, Italy, Greece, Singapur or Indonesia. We love to see like our designs are part of their special memories. We are proud of it.

Last August we travelled to India, we visited the entire region of Rajasthan and we felt in love with the country immediately.
India is definitely not an easy country, is a land full of contrasts. You can find the most opulent palace next to homeless people sleeping in the street, You can try the most exquisite delicacies while an important part of the population still does not have almost to eat. Or you can see a large middle class that grows strong and who loves to buy western products try hard to keep its hinduist ancestral traditions.
India is really a huge country so it was impossible for us to visit the whole India. So we concentrated our efforts on visiting Rajasthan. We stayed in the rainforest, in the countryside or in the desert... and also we visited cities like Jodhpur, Jaisalmer or Udaipur. But if there is a city we do remember as the most elegant and inspirational ever, this city is Jaipur, the pink city.
Jaipur is called the pink city because the Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh decided to paint all the buildings pink to welcome the Prince of Wales, later Edward VII, in 1876. The city is known worlwide for its unique Architecture and arts and craft work. In the old city of Jaipur all the buildings are covered with terracotta and the city Palace is one of the most beautiful buildings we have ever seen.
But Jaipur is also a modern city and the capital of the Rajasthan state where ancient buildings are mixed with modern constructions and a kind of controlled chaos. It was hard for us to capture the business of Jaipur in pictures. The amount of people, and traffic, and noise and stuff going on is just beyond anything we've ever experienced. Were were just getting out or cameras and mobiles when we had quite moments, some of the pictures of this post were taken on sunday early, early, early morning and we usually used the mobile to take almost all streets pictures just to "camouflage" ourselves and capture more natural moments.
In this post we want to share with you some of the images we took on the city palace and in the old Jaipur. We had an amazing time walking and exploring the city by ourselves, stopping if we wanted to take a picture, if something was catching our attention and even the city palace and the heritage there are so beautiful we felt in love even more with the energy of the old neighborhood.
